Getting a clear view of the sky
A dish needs a clear line south-east, so trees, neighbouring tenements and the city's hills all matter. We check the line of sight before drilling and choose the position that works, not just the nearest wall.
If your building is listed or in a conservation area, there can be restrictions on where a dish goes, especially on a front elevation. We'll position it as discreetly as possible and tell you if it's worth checking with the council first.

Satellite dish installation: common questions
Can you install a dish for Freesat without a subscription?
Yes. Freesat needs a dish and a Freesat box or TV with Freesat built in. There is no monthly fee.
Can you move my Sky dish?
Yes. We can move a dish to a new wall or a less visible spot and realign it, as long as the new position has a clear view of the satellite.
Do you install dishes for foreign TV?
Yes, including Hotbird and motorised systems. Tell us which channels you want and we will advise which satellite and dish size you need.
Can you replace an old satellite dish?
Yes. If your dish is old, damaged or has weak reception, we can replace it with a current model for a strong, long-lasting signal.
Can my old dish be repaired instead of replaced?
Often, yes. Many reception problems only need a realignment, a new LNB or new cable rather than a new dish. We will tell you which before any work starts.
Do you install TV aerials too?
Yes. We install and repair TV aerials across Edinburgh and the Lothians as well as satellite dishes.
